Heidelberg Physics Graduate Days

10.2.2026

From 7–10 April 2026, the 56th Heidelberg Physics Graduate Days will take place at INF 226 and 227. Over four days, PhD researchers from across physics will come together for intensive block courses.

This year’s program spans from cosmology, dark energy, and gravitational waves to AI in fundamental research. Topics include Higgs physics, holographic dualities, quantum simulations with ultracold atoms, as well as fusion, environmental physics, and soft matter/biophysics. And: magnetic materials for sustainable energy applications, represented by Katharina Ollefs, who only recently joined the faculty.

A highlight of the program is the Hans Jensen Invited Lecture, delivered as a public talk by Jesse Thaler from MIT, addressing current developments at the interface of AI and fundamental physics.
