we cordially invite you to the 17. Annual German Conference of Women in Physics (Deutsche Physikerinnentagung,DPT) which will take place this year in Heidelberg. The registration is now open at http://www.physikerinnentagung.de/anmeldung/index.html?lang=en&.
The deadline for abstract submission and early registration is September 29th. For the last three years contributions from male physicists are also considered within a limited quota (http://www.physikerinnentagung.de/hintergrund.html?lang=en&).
The opening presentation will be given by Lisa Kaltenegger who will discuss the newest results in Exoplanet science. Other renowned speakers from Physics and Astronomy include Laura Covi, Barbara Jäger, Susanne Kreim, Persis Drell, Anna Frebel and Kerstin Tackmann.
Talks on Gender Equality and related issues will be given by Marion Esch, Sabine Koch and Bettina Langfeldt. There will also be sessions highlighting the careers of physicists outside of academic science.
Additionally the poster presentation session and the conference dinner offer opportunity for participants to mingle and network. The city of Heidelberg and our laboratories can both be explored through guided group tours. For schoolgirls there will be a special program with experiments at the Zentrum für Astronomie of the University of Heidelberg and at the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuklear Physics.
