The project „Scalable and Sustainable Sorting and Processing of Semiconducting Carbon Nanotubes as Functional Materials“ (SCALE-NT) will explore new ways to reduce the environmental impact of working with single-walled carbon nanotubes while still making use of their unique optical and electronic properties for applications in (bio)sensing and energy conversion. Harmful chemicals that are currently necessary for purification and sorting of nanotubes will be replaced with bioderived and biodegradable materials. New spectroscopic techniques will be developed to understand their impact on nanotube properties.
