Stern-Gerlach Medal for Klaus Blaum

Klaus Blaum, Director at the MPI for Nuclear Physics and Honorary Professor at our faculty, will be awarded the DPG's highest honour in the field of experimental physics.

Prof. Dr Klaus Blaum is honoured by the German Physical Society (DPG) with the Stern-Gerlach Medal "in recognition of his pioneering developments of Penning ion traps into spectroscopic precision measuring instruments and their applications for tests of the four fundamental interactions, their symmetries, the fundamental constants and thus the standard model of particle physics". As the DPG's highest honour for outstanding achievements in the field of experimental physics, it is awarded for work from the entire field of physics. The award will be presented in March 2025 during the 88th Annual Meeting of the DPG in Bonn.

The faculty congratulates Klaus Blaum!
