EXOPLANET ATMOSPHERE CHARACTERIZATION

Laura Kreidberg

Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, Heidelberg
Vormittags

Now that over 5000 exoplanets have been discovered around other stars, the next step is to characterise the planets’ atmospheres.

In these lectures, I will cover four key topics:
(1) Overview of techniques and facilities we use to “see” exoplanet atmospheres,
(2)  atmospheric chemistry and the building blocks of planets,
(3) climate, clouds, and weather, and
(4) future prospects and the path to finding an inhabited exoplanet.
