The transition to renewable energy introduces significant systemic challenges, primarily the need to align fluctuating supply with consumer demand. In this talk, Martin explores how shifting electricity consumption—incentivized by dynamic pricing—can serve as a cornerstone for a stable, green grid. Implementing this at scale requires substantial advancements in infrastructure and software to measure, bill, and orchestrate energy use in real-time. Martin will discuss the technical landscape of these developments and share his personal trajectory: transitioning from a PhD at the HGSFP to a startup dedicated to building the software infrastructure that powers the energy transition.
