DESCRIPTION:The calculation of calendrical data has a long tradition at ARI
. The\nannual volume "Astronomische Grundlagen für den Kalender" is edited
by\nARI and provides calendar publishers in Germany with fundamentals for\n
the production of calendars. It is available open access at:\n\nhttps://jou
 rnals.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/index.php/agfdk. \n\nIn this talk I describe how
it happened that eminent scientists like Leibniz and Roemer\naround the ye
ar 1700 worked on the task of getting the date of Easter\n"right" in an ast
ronomical sense\, and how this effort is connected to\nthe history of ARI.\
