DESCRIPTION:Barred galaxies tend to exhibit a dense and highly star forming
\nregion at their center\, called Central Molecular Zone (CMZ). Gas dynami
cs and star \nformation in CMZs are fundamentally shaped by the complex gas
motions and extreme \nconditions of the region. Leveraging dedicated radia
tion-MHD simulations we compare \nISM properties and star formation in such
a region to a Solar-neighborhood type of \nenvironment\, highlighting and
understanding differences. Importantly\, strong shear\, \nshort orbital tim
escales and frequent cloud collisions\, tend to decouple stars from \ntheir
surrounding gas early in their evolution\, when feedback is still active.
This \nhas important consequences on how stellar feedback couples back to t
he ISM and changes \nthe classical picture of how HII regions and superbubb
 les evolve.\n\nImported from https://www.physik.uni-heidelberg.de/hephysto/
